It says that 348 books were found defective at the time of publication. Defective book discovered after publication were seven. Publications Committee was Leona Sadler, Chair. Education Committee chair was William S Sadler. In spring they offered a course on Doctrine of the Urantia Book IV by William S Sadler, and World Religions, Tom Wideroe. In fall William S Sadler conducted a course on Worship and Wisdom and Science in the Urantia Book by Alvin Kulieke. About 25 people are taking the courses for credit and another 25 are auditing the classes. William S Sadler says that 3 more textbooks were added to the curriculum this year. He says "These textbooks are written not only to serve the present and future purposes of the school, but also with the thought in mind of a future correspondence school." The Finance Committee was chaired by Phillip A Copenhaver Jr. He notes that the tax-exempt status of the Brotherhood has finally been received. The Miscellaneous Committee chaired by Christie notes that most of the efforts were of a clerical nature. Warren G Kulieke, chair of the Charter Committee writes about immediate goals of the Brotherhood, dissemination of the book, developing teachers and leaders, translation into many languages, developing a better relationship between the societies and the Exec. Comm. by developing a quarterly newspaper and field representatives, and safeguarding the revelation. Secretary-General, Marian Rowley says that they have had some interesting interviews in the evening and weekends with Doc Sadler. She mentions Bud Kagan of California, Mary Kathryn and Bill Grisso and Berkeley Elliott of Oklahoma City. She has written 80 letters to interested readers who have asked for information in 17 states and 5 foreign countries, England, Australia, France, Switzerland, and Egypt. Bill Sadler Jr became the first Field Representative, a personal liaison between the Exec. Comm. and societies. Official permission was granted from the Foundation for the Brotherhood, Corporation, and local societies to use the Urantia symbol. Walter Parkin resigned from the General Council. Two Councilors, William Harrah and Clarence Bowman died. Study groups are in Albany, Fort Lauderdale, Forth Worth, Darien, Wichita, Bensenville, West Springs, Winnetka, Springfield, and Chicago. More than half of all the books sold in 1959 were sold in bookstores. Some are mail order. They have a map with red pins were the books are sold from.
