Description |
4 pgs, Exec. Comm. Minutes. Bill Sadler Jr writes a memorandum (verified by Marian Rowley) to the Exec. Comm. prior to the first meeting of the newly established Urantia Brotherhood. He titles it, "A Cultural Chrysalis in Relation to Parochial and Provincial Thinking." He uses the analogy of a chrysalis for the Forum as a social incubator for the ensuing Brotherhood. He reminds them that the initial foundation of this brotherhood was laid by those Socratic in philosophy and Protestant Catholic in theology. Yet, they are attempting to initiate a brotherhood which should have ecumenical and international appeal, i.e. to a person who is Confucianism in his morality and Mahayana Buddhist in his theology. "We are making an intelligent effort to create a social vehicle which can serve as a social companion for the essentially spiritual message of these papers." |
